SUMMARY: This position landscapes and maintains the grounds at the Grand Timber Lodge.
Follow planned landscaping designs and ensure turf is professionally kept.
Care for the lawns, flower beds, flower baskets, plants, shrubs and trees by completing a variety of landscaping tasks such as aerating, dethatching, digging, edging, fertilizing, mowing, pruning, raking, sod laying, sowing, transplanting, trimming, watering and weeding.
Aerate, dethatch, edge, fertilize, mow, rake and weed the lawns.
Keep lawns free of branches, debris, grass clippings and leaves regularly.
Keep flower beds clean, edged, fertilized, pruned and weed free.
Keep flower baskets pruned and well-watered.
Fertilize and prune plants, shrubs and trees as needed.
Water all turf using sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
Utilize nontoxic and ecofriendly weed and pest control methods.
Lay sod, sow new grass and transplant new plants, shrubs and trees as needed.
Spread straw over seeded soil to prevent erosion.
Haul and spread compost, mulch and/or topsoil as needed.
Edge around walks, and walls.
Maintain and repair stone walls and borders.
Gather and remove litter from the grounds.
Winterize the irrigation systems and start them up in spring.
Assist the Engineering Department with projects as necessary.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), following OSHA guidelines, for specific job tasks which require safety protection as outlined by the Engineering Leadership Team.
Uphold Hospitality Standards, Company Culture, Department Core Standards and observe Company policies and procedures.
Be the "End of the Line" and resolve every situation inherited, not passing it along, whenever possible.
Follow up on any situation that is not fully resolved at the time of the initial request.
Strive to close the loop (alleviate or eliminate issues) on any situations that cannot be fully resolved.
Respond promptly to all email and voicemail correspondence.
Maintain a positive working relationship with all contacts, always being helpful and courteous.
Wear proper uniform and name badge and adhere to Company appearance standards at all times.
Attend and participate in company-wide training sessions and department staff meetings.
MARGINAL DUTIES: Functions that are not considered essential to the job:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Utilize the appropriate tools and machines safely and as needed.
Operate the utility task vehicle (UTV), safely and as needed.
Follow Company guidelines for environmental sustainability practices (recycling, composting and conserving resources) and participate in the Company's sustainability initiatives.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE: Ability to type by touch, operate a personal computer and accurately record time worked, in the correct department, using the Company time keeping system. Ability to utilize appropriate programs using a mobile device.
CERTIFICATIONS and/or LICENSES: Valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record preferred.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to speak, read, write and interpret in English. Ability to read and interpret business correspondence, operating, maintenance and safety instructions, procedures, rules and schedules. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to speak with guests, owners and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
